assmine was diagnosed at age 2 with Autism and four years later, in 2004, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Jassmine relapsed in 2006 and underwent a much stronger chemotherapy treatment. In addition, at the beginning of 2007 she had a bone marrow transplant and since that time has experienced several infections.
Jassmine’s mother is a single parent raising two children. Since Jassmine’s diagnosis, her mother quit her job and her studies in order to take care of her daughter and make decisions on her behalf. She was intending to go back to work to support her family, but her daughter’s relapse prevented her from doing that and has devastated her entire family emotionally and financially.
Miracles for Kids was able to assist this family with their rent, allowing them one more month of security and the ability to focus on what is important - Jassmine’s health.
