Helping Critically-ill Kids Start the School Year with Confidence

(August 2025) Thanks to your support and generosity, the Boost Program’s Back-to-School Basket of Miracles provided backpacks and school supplies to 450 families, helping critically-ill children and their siblings start the school year with the tools they need and a sense of readiness, normalcy, and hope.

We are incredibly grateful to our dedicated volunteers in both Los Angeles and Orange County who personally delivered backpacks to these families, helping us reduce delivery costs and increase the impact of this program.

A special thank you to Rasheed Muhammad, Miracles for Kids Board Member, who rallied friends and colleagues to assemble and deliver backpacks to 31 families in Los Angeles. We also appreciate the Atwater family for graciously hosting this event at their distribution site, Curl Days, in Los Angeles.

In Orange County, the assembly and distribution efforts were a tremendous success, with backpacks delivered to 85 families. This effort not only provided essential supplies but also fostered new connections between our volunteers and the families we serve.

Together we provided:

  • – 1,032 Backpacks
  • 544 Binders
  • 3,264 Pocket Folders
  • 1,826 Spiral Notebooks
  • 1,032 Pencil Cases
  • 417 Crayon Packs
  • 544 Colored Pencil Packs
  • 2,370 Pens
  • 4,224 Pencils
  • 961 Highlighters

Thank you for helping to make this back-to-school season a little brighter for families battling unimaginable hardship.
