Meet Efren
(February 2026) – At the age of three, Efren was rushed to the emergency room following a head injury. Imaging and tests uncovered a brain mass, resulting in immediate hospitalization. Within 72 hours, he underwent surgery to remove a 5cm tumor, with 98% of it successfully excised. His recovery proved to be arduous. He spent several weeks intubated due to respiratory complications and was unable to eat or move for nearly three months.
Once stabilized, Efren was moved to the oncology unit, where he was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, a fast-growing, cancerous brain tumor. He is currently receiving chemotherapy through a port and a Broviac line, along with various medications to manage side effects, protect his liver, alleviate pain, and maintain his blood counts.
Efren will remain hospitalized through the completion of this treatment cycle. During this difficult time, both parents have taken leave from work to stay by his side, relying on savings while facing growing financial strain. Through Miracles for Kids, the family has found meaningful relief and stability as they navigate this challenging chapter. Assistance through the Lifeline Program is helping cover the family’s car payments, easing one burden so they can focus fully on Efren’s care and recovery.
There are hundreds of families like Efren’s that are facing unimaginable challenges. Whether you give $1 or 1 hour of your time, YOU can be their miracle. Take action today!
