Client Story

Meet Emiliano

(May 2025)Emiliano was born at 43 weeks and was immediately taken to the NICU. After birth, his mother learned that he had multiple heart defects—four holes in his heart, one of them significantly large, along with a narrow valve that also required surgery.

These issues, though large enough to be detected during pregnancy, had gone unnoticed. At just eight days old, doctors detected a heart murmur. On February 11th, a pulmonary band was placed in his heart to limit blood flow.

Though Emiliano was briefly discharged in December, he was soon readmitted due to high potassium levels. Since then, he’s faced multiple hospital stays, including a battle with RSV. Now, Emiliano remains in the hospital under close observation. His condition is critical, and he is considered high-risk. His medical team is still deciding whether to repair the valve or the heart defect first.

Through it all, Emiliano continues to fight with incredible strength, surrounded by the love and hope of his family. Emiliano and his family have been approved to receive a grant from Miracles for Kids for rent and they are extremely grateful to all the supporters who help make this possible. The assistance has truly been a miracle for Emiliano and his family.
