Client Story

Meet John

(July 2025)John was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome while his mother was seven months pregnant. At just two days old, he endured his first open-heart surgery, followed by a second at nine months.

As he grew, doctors discovered his left lung wasn’t developing properly, making him ineligible for the third surgery in his planned series. In 2019, after years of uncertainty, John was placed on the heart transplant list. Not long after, he began coughing up blood. A pulmonary tear was discovered, and the complication led to the heartbreaking removal of John from the transplant list.

John has now spent over 16 months in the hospital. When doctors at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles could do no more, his mother reached out to six other hospitals, holding onto hope. Sadly, each gave the same difficult answer. Today, John is in hospice care, surrounded by love and his family’s unbreakable strength.

To help ease the financial burden during this extremely difficult time, Miracles for Kids is covering the family’s rent through the Lifeline Program – so they can focus on John.

There are hundreds of families like John’s that are going through agonizing struggles. Whether you give $1 or 1 hour of your time, YOU can be their miracle. Take action today!
