Meet Remington

1 Year Old Remington, Diagnosed with Acute Neuroblastoma

(January 2026)One morning, Remington woke up with watery eyes that worsened throughout the day. Initial hospital evaluations showed nothing alarming, but just days later, one of his eyes began to bulge noticeably. His family rushed him back to the hospital, where a CT scan revealed devastating news — two tumors.

At only 1 year old, Remington was diagnosed with Acute Neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. His young life is now filled with chemotherapy, radiation, and seven daily medications. At his age, he cannot understand the diagnosis — only that his days now include frequent hospital visits, procedures, and unfamiliar routines.

The diagnosis has placed significant financial strain on the family. Remington’s father left his job to become his full-time caregiver, while his mother continues working to support the household. With only one income, meeting basic needs has become increasingly difficult. Miracles for Kids is helping the family with a grant to cover essential expenses such as water, power, and gas, providing stability during an incredibly challenging time.

Miracles for Kids has also brought moments of comfort and connection. Recently, Remington and his family attended a wellness event hosted by the Miracles for Kids Balance Program in partnership with Lemons to Lemonade, a nonprofit focused on grief support. The event included lunch, games, raffles, face painting, and thoughtful gifts, along with essential items and gift cards.

As the day came to a close, the family’s gratitude was unmistakable — a reminder that compassion, community, and support can make a meaningful difference, even in the hardest moments. Through programs like these, Miracles for Kids continues to stand beside families like Remington’s, offering care, stability, and hope when it’s needed most.
