Carla Gonzalez
Carla serves as the Wellness and Family Services Programs Associate Coordinator, where she supports families and social workers throughout the referral and eligibility process. In her role, she manages referral intake, helps guide families as they access available programs and resources, and assists coordinators with caseload support to ensure families receive timely and compassionate care. Carla works closely with social workers, hospital partners, and internal team members to help facilitate services and provide ongoing support. Carla is passionate about helping others and is dedicated to creating a positive, supportive experience for every family she serves during difficult times.
She holds an Associate’s in Natural Sciences from Cerritos College and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health Policy from the University of California, Irvine, finalizing her degree in Spring 2025. During her undergraduate studies, Carla completed two impactful internships that strengthened her passion for serving vulnerable populations. In Fall 2024, she interned with Miracles for Kids, supporting caseworkers and gaining hands-on experience working with families navigating challenging circumstances. She also interned at the Costa Mesa Bridge Shelter, where she helped individuals in transitional housing connect with resources for permanent housing and other supportive services, while also developing and facilitating educational workshops. Before returning to Miracles for Kids as a full-time team member, Carla worked as an assistant teacher, further developing her communication, organization, and support skills. Driven by a deep commitment to helping others, she is excited to continue making a meaningful impact in the lives of the families she serves. Inspired by the impact of Miracles for Kids, she hopes to eventually pursue a graduate degree that will equip her to create meaningful change in the lives of others.
Outside of work, Carla enjoys visiting new cities, hiking, and reading romance novels. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and her dog and relaxing with a good romantic comedy movie.
