Surf & Paddle Summer Camp 2025: Waves, Smiles, and Memories

(September 2025) – This summer marked the 14th year of the Miracles for Kids Surf & Paddle Summer Camp! As part of the Balance Program, this cherished experience is designed to give families with critically-ill children a chance to step away from their daily challenges, providing caregivers with a moment of respite and kids with a day filled with joy, adventure, and laughter.

This year, 56 kids came together for sun-soaked days of kayaking, paddleboarding, and surfing. For the first time, Miracles for Kids partnered with Corky Carroll’s Surf School, whose pro-instructors made it possible for the kids to not just catch waves, but also catch countless smiles. Their energy and encouragement made the surfing experience unforgettable.

Miracles for Kids is also deeply grateful to our longtime partners, the Newport Aquatic Center and Newport Dunes Resort, for providing the perfect setting for water adventures and fun.

Of course, no great day is complete without great food! Huge thanks to Bracken’s Kitchen and BJ’s Brewhouse for serving up delicious lunches, along with refreshing juices from Perricone Juices.

Finally, these wonderful days would not be possible without the incredible support of volunteers. From helping kids into kayaks and onto paddleboards to helping them in the surf, their dedication is what makes this camp such a success year after year.
